STOP THE PATRIOT ACT!

I was under the impression that it was too late - but apparently it hasn't gone to vote yet. its worth a shot, right? what's that saying - its not over until the fat lady sings?
The White House is pressuring Congress to reauthorize a new version of thePatriot Act that is worse than the original law and doesn't include needed reforms. This could come before the Senate as soon as Thursday.A bipartisan group of senators have agreed to fight the Patriot Act ?byfilibuster if necessary.This is a huge moment. Senators from both parties are standing together to protect freedom and liberty -- and they're ready to fight.
Can you signthis petition to show them and the rest of the Senate that you support filibustering this bad bill?

You're the second person who's told me about the MoveOn.org petition. We've been discussing the Patriot Act a lot in my classes especially its effects on library policy. I completely agree with you about stopping the Patriot Act and I want to sign that petition. But here's the thing, what are they going to do with my personal info? It's an ironic question,don't you think.
