“Golly gee, its cold – with a capital K!” – Weather Channel anchor, circa winter 2004.

The ‘burgh is definitely cold. Today its about 34 degrees, but with the wind chill its more like 20!! Wow, Mo wasn’t kidding when he said the wind chill was killer!

So, I wrapped up warm today – especially since I know its going to be exponentially colder when the sun goes down. I get on the bus, with my backpack, laptop bag, bag of study aids (i.e. food), wearing my MASSIVE jacket, and three visible layers underneath. I bet I looked pretty stupid! Actually, from the stares I got from all the undergrads on the bus – I know I looked pretty stupid. It was hilarious though – coz they were all wearing their cool fleeces, maybe a pea-coat (is that how you spell it!?), Pitt sweatshirts, etc – and here I am lookin’ like I’m an Eskimo (thank GOD I don’t have a hood!).

Of course I ignored them because I knew that I was REALLY REALLY REALLY WARM and thats a heck of alot better than bein' cold.

On another note, I realized this week how absolutely dependent I am on my cell phone. Its pathetic. I barely got through three days without it and succumbed to getting a new phone, and renewing my contract with Sprint. Its not as bad a deal as I make it out to be coz alot of people are on Sprint in the 'burgh, and in the district (free PCS-PCS calls) - and the reception is pretty decent here.

And finally, the most random part of this post - my coffee tastes like paan!!!!

Note: paan - betel leaf (usually sold stuffed with nuts and condiments as an appetizer).
