much to write home about
Finals are fast approaching. It all seems really surreal because first of all I can't believe the first semesters almost over - the ups and downs have settled to mostly downs (kidding!), the dreaded memo is in, stumbled through being called on, two amazing breaks (unHEARD of in the life of a 1L!) - and finally the last step. Finals. 3 1/2 months all depend on 10 days. Hundreds (maybe thousands?!) of pages of reading, boiled down to a 1 page checklist.
As expected, this scares me to no end. My amazing support system of upperclassmen assure me that I'll be ok - and this gives me what I call a false sense of security. I trust them - they've all gone through it - but it still freaks me out. I've never been a good test taker, especially when everything - EVERYTHING - banks on three-hours in a closed room.
Of course, when the going gets tough - Z gets melodramatic. While I hope to be so completely focused on getting ready for "the big day(s)" - I'm sure that I'm going to have melodramatic moments to share.
And hopefully hilarious ones like this - a quote from a Contracts case (based on a real case!) that is going to be my mantra for the next month. :-)
"Don't lose your head,
to save a minute.
You need your head,
your brains are in it!"

I sign off with an emphatic "BRING IT ON" [Dubya style] - I just hope that it doesn't lead me into my own little quagmire.
