words of wisdom from the man ... Bob Dylan
In 1991, when Rolling Stone interviewed Dylan on the occasion of his 50th birthday, he gave a curious response when the interviewer asked him if he was happy. He fell silent for a few moments and stared at his hands. 'You know,' he said, 'these are yuppie words, happiness and unhappiness. It's not happiness or unhappiness, it's either blessed or unblessed.'
There comes a time when the best thing you can do for yourself is count your blessings. They are infinite, so there's no excuse to stop. Missed opportunities are just that ... missed. Here's a resolution for 2006, albeit a little late - I'm going to charge forward. Its an interesting balance. There is much we can change in the future, but nothing we can change in the past. But, at this very moment, there is nothing we can learn about the future, but so much that we can learn from the past.
I should start by looking forward to finishing this brief instead of looking back to the amount of time that I've lost worrying about it!!!
