passing the buck?

Interesting article in the New York Times, on Michael Brown's (ex-FEMA Chief) testimony yesterday ...

Ex-FEMA Leader Faults Response by White House

This quote caught my eye ...

"It is my belief," Mr. Brown told the senators, that if "we've confirmed that a terrorist has blown up the 17th Street Canal levee, then everybody would have jumped all over that and been trying to do everything they could."

Hmm ... I'm sure that Mr. Brown's observation is more true than false - but I'm a little skeptical of this dude.

Also, I'm not really surprised, but it still bothers me that the spotlight on New Orleans was so short lived. While everyone in D.C. is fighting out who's going to take the heat, New Orleans is still struggling to get back on its feet.

Observations from the field. Also, check out The Student Hurricane Network
