Commonly used desi terminology [my style]
PhuPhu = paternal aunt [note: Amina Phuphu is not actually MY phuphu, she's MOM's Khala, but we're confused like that]
Khala = maternal aunt
Mama = maternal uncle
Shaadi = wedding
tamaasha = excitement, enjoyment; used like "lets make some noise" - desi's say, "lets make some tamaasha yaar!"
yaar = friend; used like "dude" [you can imagine how much I use it :)]
mehendi, aka henna = usually the night before the wedding, there's dancing and singing; yellow, green, orange are traditional theme colors
